AGM 2004

Each year during the first weekend of March break, some 500 delegates assemble in Toronto for the OECTA Annual General Meeting. This meeting is the supreme decision making body of our Association taking positions on policy and program directions for OECTA.

The Eastern Unit will have a delegation of fourteen members attending the AGM, these members include: Marilies Rettig, Ann McGahey, Peter Peckham, Dale Fobert, Mireille LaPointe, Tammy Peckham, Darryl Power, Francis Scholten, Kevin Hogan, Mark Melville, Lori Bryden, Agnes McVeety, Barb Dobrowolski, Chris Beacom and Steve Kirby as our alternate delegate.

Every school will have received the AGM supplement which outlines all of the resolutions which will be considered at AGM 2004. We encourage all teachers to review the resolutions and provide feedback and direction to the unit delegation attending the AGM.

The meeting for review of the AGM resolutions will take place on Thursday March 4th, 2004 at 5:00 pm at St Mike’s Catholic High School in Kemptville. All members are invited to that meeting at which time we will take a disposition on AGM resolutions.

Unit General Meeting

The Unit General Meeting will be held on Wednesday March 31, 2004 in Kemptville. The Teachers’ Proposal for the upcoming round of negotiations will be reviewed for the members at this General Meeting for their disposition.
