Class Profiles

Teachers are asking many questions in relation to class profiles. In discussion with the school board, it is important for teachers to note two things:

  1. Teachers need only complete the profile for students in their classrooms who are in receipt of Special Education services;
  2. In no way does the request for class profiles override or curtail a teacher’s right to use their professional judgment in the decision as to which diagnostic assessment(s) to use from the Board’s assessment calendar, for which student(s), as well as the frequency and timing of the assessment tool. (In order to inform their instruction, teachers must utilize diagnostic assessment during the school year.) Therefore, though the class profile may have space to enter the results of various assessments, these may remain unfilled if the teacher has not completed them with any given student.

Workload Reports

Staff Reps should have distributed and collected Elementary and Secondary Workload reports from each teacher at their school. If this hasn’t yet been completed, we ask Staff Reps to send in the collected reports as soon as possible. Teachers’ cooperation is appreciated!
