Cornwall teacher gets spot in NYC Marathon with help from her ‘kids’
A Cornwall teacher is running in the New York Marathon this weekend and said she has her cross-country running team to thank.
“We have practice three times a week and we would all run together,” said St. Joseph’s Catholic Secondary School teacher Lynn McCuaig. “Well, we would start together because a lot of them are faster than me.”
McCuaig said they would all break off and then join back together to run the final cool-down kilometre.
“It was really neat,” she said. “They have a lot of energy and it’s really motivating to be out with a big group. They really helped me out with my training to make sure I kept to my schedule.”
